The Maple Grove Half Marathon & 5K is a community race held annually in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, MN.  The inaugural event, held May 17, 2008, attracted approximately 650 half marathoners and 275 5K runners.  Held in the spring of the year, the half marathon is an ideal training run for those preparing for longer events such a Grandma’s Marathon.

Maple Grove Half Marathon & 5K is organized by MG Road Runners, a non-profit organization created to organize and promote long distance running events.  Proceeds from the race benefit the Maple Grove Lions Club, a non-profit organization affiliated with Lions International, the largest civic organization in the world.  Proceeds are used for charitable and other activities in the Maple Grove area.

The 2010 Maple Grove Half Marathon & 5K will be held May 15.  Registration will open on January 1, 2010 and will be capped at 700 runners for the half marathon and 300 for the 5K.  Register early to ensure your place at the starting line.
